Luxury Living: Essential Tools for Maintaining Pristine Upholstery

I love upholstered items and specify them quite often. They can greatly contribute to the luxurious feel of a space. That being said, the number one question I get from clients is how to maintain them. They are worried they will become dirty quickly or ruined forever by one accidental stain. Fear not, my friends! I have my list of tried and true items for maintaining your upholstery.

1. Pet Hair Remover. I absolutely love my sweet Boston Terrier, but the dog is a shedder. You can imagine how great that goes with my cream colored sofa. However, I don’t stress too much because I know the pet hair can be easily removed with the proper tools. I love this roller that functions similarly to a lint roller, except you don’t need to remove any sticky paper. I highly recommend this item to my pet-loving clients for keeping their furniture pristine.

2. Spot Remover. We use spot remover on our laundry, so why not use one especially made for upholstery & rugs. This specific spot remover has a cult following and for good reason. I have yet to meet a stain this cleaner could not remove. 10/10 of times you will catch me with this spray on any given furniture install day to ensure my client’s fabrics are spotless.

3. Upholstery Cleaner. This small, but mighty upholstery cleaning machine is another product building up a strong social media following. It is lightweight and easy to use when it is time for a deep cleaning of your sofa, chairs, rugs, or even car interior! The smell is delightful and so is your furniture after using this guy.

4. Fabric Refresh Spray. Sometimes we do not always have the time or energy to deep clean our sofas and chairs. My favorite solution is in fact a “solution” of water, rubbing alcohol, and essential oils. I particularly love this recipe. It provides an instant scent boost, while also eliminating bacteria! That is a win in my book!

5. Portable Hand Vacuum. I think everyone has something that causes them irrational anger. I have two of those: one is my purse tipping over after a wide turn in the car and all of the contents spilling everywhere. The second is finding little crumbs in my sofa crevices! If you are like me, first off bless you. Truly bless you, and not in a “bless your heart” kind of way. Secondly, we have an easy solution for the crumbs! I keep this little blessing charged and use it multiple times a week for easy clean-up. Did your toddler leave goldfish on the sofa and then sat on them creating orange cheesy confetti? Bring in this little hand vacuum for back-up. Confetti gone!

With spring right around the corner, you will certainly catch me using all of the items above to refresh my home! Have you tried any of these products before? Let me know!
